Rules

Rules of Play for 2012

Rules of the Royal and Ancient Club of St. Andrews will apply except where modified by local rules.

Local rules as follows:
Out of Bounds - White Stakes - Holes #1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 (New: row of trees on left of fairway and behind green) and 16
Water Hazards - Yellow Stakes - Holes # 7, 9 and 10
Lateral Water Hazards - Red Stakes - Holes #9 and 12
Obstructions - young trees, blue staked and those between holes #5 & #6; water catch between holes #2 & #3 free drop point of entry; all flower beds and all tournament signage treated as GUR.

Tournament Format - 4 person Best 2 Team Stableford
(Reminder that Stableford format is plus score)

Only the 2 top points scored on each hole will be counted
Points are awarded for NET score as follows:

Double Eagle (3 under par) +8
Eagle                                     +6
Birdie                                    +4
Par                                         +2

Players will receive 75% of their bonafide handicaps and these strokes will be marked on the tournament scorecard provided.
Maximum handicap is 30 for women and 24 for men.
All ties will be broken by comparing the team's point total on the #1 handicap hole and going further if necessary.
Team captains are to post gross scores on the scorecard only and return the scorecard to the scoreboard at the completion of play.

Golf Skills Contest Rules

Closest to the Pin  sponsored by TeleBermuda International

Winners (men & ladies) from each Shotgun Start will qualify for the Shootout. Each Qualifier will hit 3 shots (balls provided) from 100 yards, Player recording the closest shot will be declared the winner.

Sand Trap Shootout  sponsored by Bacardi International

Players from all shotgun starts are invited to qualify.  Qualifying must be completed prior to shotgun start. Qualifying begins 45 mins prior to and finish 5 mins prior to scheduled shotgun start. Each player will attempt one shot from a designated bunker and the nearest Man and Lady will qualify. In case of a tie, there will be a one shot playoff.  Qualifiers will have two shots from the designated bunker and the nearest will be declared the winner.

Putting Shootout  sponsored by Digicel

Players from all shotgun starts are invited to qualify.  Qualifying must be completed prior to shotgun start. Qualifying begins 45 mins prior to and finish 5 mins prior to scheduled shotgun start.  Each player will attempt one putt from 25 feet and the nearest Man and Lady will qualify.  In case of a tie there will be a one putt playoff.  Qualifiers will then have two putts at the designated length and the closest will be declared the winner.
